Rock Creek Fishing Report - 4/4
Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!
This week’s winner of the two dozen free flies, just for having a Kingfisher sticker in his window, is a….. (drum roll)Blue Ford Bronco: with the last two digits of the license plate being… 58

Drive your rig down to the shop and pick up your bugs!  Thanks for being a Kingfisher customer.

Rock Creek is waking up, and the fishing is improving every day.  Just like all the other rivers, Rock creek saw a little bump in flow from the moisture we got the last couple of days.  This hasn’t affected the clarity or fishing too much, if any degree.  The fishing on the upper sections has been the best, but it sounds like the road is still in really poor condition, so you’ll half to come in through Philipsburg.  Your best fishing today is going to be with tandem nymph rigs and streamers.  Fishing on top could turn the corner any day now, so using a dry/strap-hanger (dropper) might be worth the try.  For sure bets, using a pheasant tail, black or olive double beaded stone, San Juan, egg patterns, fast water princes and red copper johns in tandem are best underneath.  for streamers, smaller sized black or olive buggers or a smaller sculpin pattern will hook some toads.  The flow on Rock Creek today is sitting right at 320 cfs.

FLIES: Smaller nymphs, small orange egg pattterns, red San Juans OTHER INFO:
