Rock Creek Fishing Report – 5/11

L-40

Rock creek has dropped down to 1930 cfs and the clarity is decent. Much more of a boaters game at this point. Tandem nymph rigs and streamers are working best in the murky water. Use San Juan worms, north fork specials, olive Pat’s rubber legs, prince nymphs, pheasant tails and supermans for nymphs. For streamers, flash fries, double gongas, dark articulated T&A leeches, sparkle minnows and sculpzillas. With the higher flows it’s important to keep your junk tight to the banks and in any slack water. When the current picks up like this, the fish move to areas that are less work for them.

HATCHES: baetis, mothers day caddis, grey drakes, skwalas
