Rock Creek Fishing Report – 5/31

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 4/19

L-DSCN4689Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!

On Rock Creek, anything above 3000cfs is certifiably dangerous, specifically in reference to floating, but with a little bit cooler weather at the end of the week, it’s dropped to around 2700cfs. That’s still pretty high, but it could mean that there is some fishing to be had this weekend. If you go, search for side channels and braids up at the top end, and throw some Prince nymphs, Double-bead Stones, Pat’s Rubber Legs, etc. Keep them deep and tight to the banks. We’ve also heard reliable rumors about salmonflies on the lower end.
