Rock Creek Fishing Report – 6/29

L-dad-6

Rock Creek is back on the drop, so the fishing should only get better from here. But it is bad timing, I suppose. Monday is the last day for float fishing, so get that in if you haven’t yet this year. Golden stones and green drakes are the ticket now, as the salmonflies have tapered off considerably. There are some caddis flying around too. For top water flies use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes and para wulffs.  For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs.  Streamers have been working well too with big dark bodied junk working best.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Ben Folds Five, The Sound of The Life of The Mind

HATCHES: salmonflies, golden stones, green drakes

FLIES: Prince nymphs, rogue stone, carnage stone, parachute adams, salmonflies/nymphs, streamers.
