Rock Creek Fishing Report – 7/1

L-99

Rock Creek has now dropped well past it’s historical average flow and is getting nothing but more inviting to wade fisherman. Water temps have risen significanly so, fishing has been best in the mornings and evenings. The hotter days are definitely getting the caddis moving in the evenings now too. Golden stones, caddis, and green drakes are the main menu items today. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use bread crusts, hare’s ears, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones, and batman nymphs. Streamers have been working well too with big dark bodied junk working best.

HATCHES: A few Salmon Flies, Golden stones, BWOs, PMDS, yellow sallies
