Rock Creek Fishing Report – 7/29

L-DSC_0224

Spruce moths are ON up here. I’ve heard the phrase, “biggest spruce moth hatch I’ve ever seen on Rock Creek” uttered in the shop a few times already this week. Get it while it’s good. There are caddis hatches in the evening, and golden stones, PMDs, and yellow sallies available during the rest of the day. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs. Darker streamers have also been working.
