Rock Creek Fishing Report – 8/1

L_72

With water temps climbing above 70 degrees we are no longer recommending fishing after 2 o’ clock. We are also cutting back our full day floats down to half day floats. Its time to give the trout a break and protect our local resources for the future. Feel free to call the shop if you have any questions.

The last couple of days, the creek has been topping out with a water temp of 68. A few days before that, though, the water was hitting 70 on the lower end. The best fishing these days continues to be on the upper 1/2 of the river, but there are good options here and there on the lower river as well. Spruce moths, small hoppers, never sink caddis, and terrestrials have all been working well for us.

HATCHES: golden stones, PMDs, yellow sallies, caddis, green drakes, hoppers
