Rock Creek Fishing Report – 8/12

L-DSCN2019

When it gets hot, we drag the depths. Feel free to toss dries in the mornings and evenings, but with 96 degree weather like we had yesterday, tie on some nymphs to drum up the deeper fish. We are seeing spruce moths (still), caddis hatches in the evening, and golden stones, PMDs, and yellow sallies available during the rest of the day. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Love of Everything, Superior Mold and Die

Bobby Burg’s one-man band was just here at the VFW last Wendesday. He put on a great show with his experimental, multi-layered indie/pop.
