Rock Creek Fishing Report – 8/16

Guided Float fishing Bitterroot River Montana

L-DSCN1894

We’ll say it again, mornings and evenings are where it’s at. Flows are nice, and it’s full-on summer fishing. We are seeing spruce moths (still), caddis hatches in the evening, and golden stones, PMDs, and yellow sallies available during the rest of the day. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Death Cab For Cutie, Plans
