Rock Creek Fishing Report – 8/2

Simms Slick Jacket

L-BR-5-1-L-8

Spruce moths are still heavy up here, and the general dry fly fishing has been more than decent. Hopper/dropper setup during the afternoon is the ticket. There are caddis hatches in the evening, and golden stones, PMDs, and yellow sallies available during the rest of the day. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs. Darker streamers have also been working.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Pele, Elephant
