Rock Creek Fishing Report – 8/26

L-40

With the temps bouncing between the 50s and 60s, the fishing has been creeping towards the fun fall fishing everyone loves. The flow at the bottom is dipping past 180cfs which is low, but… it’s giving historically good wade fishing access, so at least there’s that. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, PMDs, BWOs, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, hares ears, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs. The streamer fishing has been best in the deeper holes and runs with dark bodied and sparkly minnow patters.

HATCHES: hoppers, BWOs, PMDS, Caddis, ants
