Rock Creek is back to where it was before the rain, as far as the flow is concerned. It’s a late-summer game now, and it’s fishing well. For dry flies, use chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, PMDs, BWOs, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs.
Weekend Fishing Tunes: Miles Davis, Kind of Blue
This is probably an unexpected throw-back, but it’s the best jazz album in history, so it’s worth a listen.
HATCHES: hoppers, nocturnal stones, PMDs, yellow sallies, caddis
FLIES: Prince nymphs, rogue stone, carnage stone, parachute adams, elk hair caddis, hoppers, stoneflies/nymphs, streamers.
