Rock Creek Fishing Report – 9/2

S-21

With the smoke gone and the mild rain storms we’ve been having, the fishing has really picked up. The water temps are staying in the low 60s and the flows are giving some historically good wade fishing access. It’s everything you can expect as fall gets closer. The morning fishing has been great with PMDs and BWOs. There have also been some mahoganies and hecubas spotted. A dry dropper rig has been tough to beat through the afternoon. Using big chubby chernobyls and hoppers with a micro stone, san juan worm, double beaded stone, or hares ear is a good bet. In the evening, the caddis have been a lot of fun. Use elk hairs, dancing caddis, x-caddis, and caddis pupaes till after dark.
