Rock Creek Fishing Report – 9/30

I’d say you should expect to see the bummer weather we were supposed to have this weekend roll in today, but it’s hard for me to trust forecasts anymore. Go out and fish. It should be good, regardless of what’s overhead. For dry flies, use mahoganies, chubby Chernobyls, stimulators, PMDs, BWOs, bullet head stones, half downs, parachute adams, purple hazes, elk hair caddis, and para wulffs. For sub surface patterns use micro stones, pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms, caddis pupae, double beaded stones and batman nymphs.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate), You Will Eventually Be Forgotten

They’re a part of the recent “emo revival,” and they’re awesome. They’ll be playing a show at the ZACC on October 4th with four other great bands. You won’t want to miss it.

HATCHES: Mahoganies, october caddis, hoppers, PMDs, BWOs, caddis, hecubas

FLIES: Prince nymphs, rogue stone, parachute adams, elk hair caddis, hoppers, stoneflies/nymphs, streamers.
