Rock Creek Report – 5/24

REPORT:

Well, if the picture that’s floating around on the net of the legitimate 29″ brown that came out of Rock Creek doesn’t motivate you to give it a shot up here, we’re not sure what will.  What a freakin’ HOG!!!  Water levels on the creek are pretty much in a holding pattern right now with minimal bumps and drops.  Water clarity is good and so is the fishing.  It’s ideal floating conditions up on the creek right now which is good because repetitive streamer/nymph/dryfly casts tight to the banks are your best option right now.  Nymphs of all kinds fished deep through runs accessible from shore should be very productive as well.  **The close-out U of M class rods are now available.  This is a SUPER opportunity to get into a high end Sage rod at substantial savings.  The rods are in like new condition and carry the full lifetime warranty. **

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

The first of the salmonflies have been spotted on the lower creek, stock up now and be ready for the next time the sun shines!  Remember, too, that June is big time golden stone and green drake time on Rock Creek!IMG_1815[1]

FLIES: A variety of caddis patterns in about a #12, comparaduns and cripples in 14s, March brown emergers, double beads, Brooke’s stones and big princes right off the bottom. Buggers both brown and black.
