Rock Creek report – 5/3

BR-5-1-L-6

REPORT:

The creek is still dropping and and starting the day today with a 47 degree water temperature.  On top of that, they’re calling for overcast skies with a 50% chance of rain – that’s a good thing!  Yeah there’s going to be some afternoon winds today, but the creek should fish big right through that minor annoyance.  March browns and caddis on top.  Subsurface it’ll be double beaded stones, attractor stuff like red San Jauns and a variety of mayfly nymphs like size 14 hare’s ears, princes, copper John’s etc.  The creek should fish well for you today, top to bottom with the time-frame from about 1 to 4 being your best dry fly opportunity.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

Double beaded stones are $1.95 every day – every week except on Fridays when you can get up to 12 of ’em for 1/2 that!DSCN1716

2 VERY good Rock Creek streamers that’re $2.25 a piece at The Kingfisher Every day, Every week.  Might want to compare that to some other shops.

FLIES: A variety of caddis patterns in about a #12, comparaduns and cripples in 14s, March brown emergers, double beads, Brooke’s stones and big princes right off the bottom. Buggers both brown and black.
