Rock Creek report – 5/4

squaw

REPORT:

The creek has bumped an insignificant 40 cfs on the lower end starting the day at 515 cfs with a water temp of 45.  Those are good numbers.  They’re now calling for some afternoon winds today, but that hasn’t seemed to put much of a damper on creek success lately.  March browns and caddis on top although they’ve been suckers for size 12 and 14 attractors this past week.  Subsurface it’ll be double beaded stones, attractor stuff like red San Jauns and a variety of mayfly nymphs like size 14 hare’s ears, princes, copper John’s etc.  The creek should fish well for you today, top to bottom with the time-frame from about 1 to 4 being your best dry fly opportunity.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

Girdle bugs (Rock Creek and Smith River KILLERS)  are $1.95 every day – every week except on Fridays when you can get up to 12 of ’em for 1/2 that!DSCN1743

FLIES: A variety of caddis patterns in about a #12, comparaduns and cripples in 14s, March brown emergers, double beads, Brooke’s stones and big princes right off the bottom. Buggers both brown and black.
