Rock Creek Report – 6/17

Blackfoot River Float trips

S-11REPORT:

The creek is dropping like a stone at this point with a reading this morning of 645 cfs near Clinton.  This is a flow that means very good wading opportunities even down low.  Good numbers of golden stones, caddis, green drakes and PMDs have the fish looking to the surface.  There are still salmonflies out and about in the heat, and still fish willing to take them, but the smaller bugs like caddis and yellow sallies seem to be in favor these days.  The nymphing and streamer fishing are both going great guns, too, if you’re having issues with dries from the banks.  Red and pink San Juans in tandem with copper John droppers for the indicator rigs, then smaller yellow bunny or bugger stuff for the streamers.  The creek is easy cheesy these days.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

FLIES: Salmonfly dries of all kinds, golden stones patterns from giant to yellow sallie varieties, green drakes, caddis

OTHER INFO: More summer patterns arriving weekly. Stop into the shop and Missoula’s best fly selection.
