Rock Creek Report – 7/16

S-18REPORT:

Even in the heat, Rock Creek continues to fish throughout the day.  There is a discernible slow-down midday, but even that lull in the action has been minimal.  We’re starting to see spruce moths up here along with all the other hatches now too. The best fishing these days is on the upper 1/2 of the river, but there are good options here and there on the lower river as well.  The water’s definitely low with a flow of 366 near Clinton this morning, but water temps remain reasonable and the fish are frisky and healthy.  Prospect during the day with a variety of bugs from hoppers to PMDs.  Red bodied whatevers are always a good bet on the creek this time of the year.  In the evening, you’ll see good numbers of caddis and rusty spinners.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

FLIES: PMDs, caddis, hoppers, ants and even a few spruce moths
