Rock Creek Report – 7/18

DSCN4653REPORT:

Even Rock Creek managed to hit the 70 degree water temperature mark yesterday, and there is a discernible midday slow down because of it. We’re starting to see spruce moths up here along with all the other hatches now too. The best fishing these days is on the upper 1/2 of the river, but there are good options here and there on the lower river as well.  The water’s definitely low with a flow of 388 near Clinton this morning, it makes for congregated fish and much easier wading. Prospect during the day with a variety of bugs from hoppers to PMDs.  Red PMXs are always a good bet on the creek this time of the year.  In the evening, you’ll see good numbers of caddis and rusty spinners but be aware of water temps in the area you’re considering fishing.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

FLIES: PMDs, caddis, hoppers, ants and even a few spruce moths
