Rock Creek Report – 7/9

S-4REPORT:

It’s midsummer fishing on the creek which means LOTS of stuff in your fly box will work.  Everything from PMDs to caddis to hoppers will have the fish looking up.  The nymphing is very solid too but by and large, unnecessary since good topwater action begins about 10:00 a.m.  The 393 cfs flow rate near Clinton is down considerably from this date a year ago when the flow was 600.  On the bright side, while water temperatures stay cool, the fish are much more congregated and the wading is easy.  In the evening, you’ll see good numbers of caddis and rusty spinners.  The fish will be looking for ’em too.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

FLIES: PMDs, caddis, hoppers, ants and even a few spruce moths

OTHER INFO: Stop in and see why The Kingfisher has been Missoula’s  locally owned, non chain flyshop for over 18 years.
